In the short span of a day we could only skim some of Florence's highlights. We started at the train station on the upper left and wandered through downtown, visiting the Santa Maria Novella church, the famous Duomo of  the Medicis, and the Galleria degli Uffizi along the way. Then we went across the Arno River on the Ponte Vecchio, admired the river view from the other bank, and meandered back to the station later in the day.
