Merry Christmas from the Morehouses!

We enjoy hearing from so many of you and sharing our lives at the end of the year because it gives us a chance to rejoice anew in our God’s wonderful gift of LIFE in Christ, review the blessings He has shared so freely with us, and reconnect with all of you. Here’s an update about what each one of us has been doing in 2012:

Susan remains very active with the Arnett Block Association and Branch Library, representing the neighborhood on the Police Chief’s Police-Citizen Interaction Committee, and ministering with her harp throughout the area. In addition, she’s often helping Dad Lowry who is making a thorough and generous inventory of the furniture he made in his shop, perhaps with the goal of downsizing sometime in the future. But her biggest joy (aside from being married, of course) is being Nana to our three wonderful granddaughters and new grandson Jasper (see below).

Bill is busier than ever providing support for the growing ministries and staff of His Branches, delivering babies, and seeing patients at Grace and Joy Family Medicine. However, many of his deepest rewards come from being a child of God, hubby, Dad, Grampy, brother, uncle, and friend.

Joel is now the full-time Director of Music at St. Mary’s Church in Auburn, while living in Bristol and working part-time for Parsons Organ Co. tuning and repairing pipe organs. His high school friend Christian and family are living in Joel’s Alameda Street house and investing lots of time completing the rehab work there. His dog Fred Bob commutes back and forth between Bristol and Auburn with him, while his cats stay in Rochester and Auburn.

Johanna and Asa, along with their very chatty toddler Anya and her big sister Zoya, have been industriously restoring their historic house in Palmyra this year. Asa is continuing to pursue his fine art career while supporting the family with his night shift job at the Sleep Center in Rochester, a 27-mile commute that he often does on his bike in good weather. Johanna is entirely occupied as a full-time homemaker and mother of our two very active granddaughters who both like to spend special time with Nana and Grampy!

Nate and Kari, accompanied by our delightful granddaughter Coral and lively dog Lupe, moved back last year from Tours, France to the University of Pittsburgh where Nate is growing into a challenging research faculty position in the Biology Department. Since then they’ve found an old Victorian home in the Highland Park area and expanded their family with the arrival of our grandson Jasper in August! Now they’re settling nicely into their new occupations, city, and house just 5 ½ hours down the road from us.

Sarah and Carl located a wonderful house in Howell, NJ this fall and moved in just in time for Hurricane Sandy to rearrange their landscaping a bit. Carl’s radio station WRAT played a vital role in keeping their local community together during and after the storm. Sarah is enjoying her Art Director position in Princeton and the shorter commute from their new home. Both like spending spare time with friends and family, going to the beach, and visiting nearby NYC.

We appreciate our family and friends, our health, the wonderful family at Joy Community Church, the Board and staff that support us (www.hisbranches.org), and the Abundant Life we have in Christ. Please stay in touch in 2012!
